By the Casa Goliana team, Roma Norte, Mexico City. October 2026.
Casa Goliana has been selected again in the MICHELIN Guide 2026. The hotel is an eight-room, 20th-century house at Guanajuato 199 in Roma Norte, and the MICHELIN Guide lists it among the hotels it recommends in Mexico City. We shared the news with our guests on Instagram on 5 October, and this page puts on record what the recognition is and what Michelin actually wrote.
Why does the MICHELIN Guide include Casa Goliana?
The MICHELIN Guide selects hotels with the same idea it applies to every property in its collection. In the words we quoted when we announced the news:
A MICHELIN Guide hotel represents the convergence of style and service. It serves as a cultural ambassador, a place in harmony with its surroundings and reflective of local identity, making it a destination in its own right.

What does Michelin say about Casa Goliana specifically?
The hotel’s page on the MICHELIN Guide carries its own write-up. A few lines from it:
- “Weighing in at just eight rooms, this 20th-century house in the hip and upscale Roma district blurs the line between boutique hotel and bed and breakfast — but by any name, it’s a charming, intimate, and extremely stylish stay.”
- “The furnishings are substantial, the artworks are unique, and there’s no compromise to be made between character and comfort.”
- “This is a pied-à-terre, not an urban resort, and you’re meant to get out and experience the city.”
The full text is on the Casa Goliana page of the MICHELIN Guide. The Guide classes the atmosphere as “Contemporary Classic & Quiet”.
What do MICHELIN Guide guests score the hotel?
18.9 out of 20. That is the Guest Score shown on the MICHELIN Guide page when we checked it on 13 October 2026. Michelin calculates it on a 20-point scale from post-stay ratings by verified MICHELIN Guide guests, and says the score plays a role in deciding whether a hotel stays in the selection.
What kind of stay is it?
Small, on purpose. There are eight rooms, some facing the terrace or the interior patio and others the street. Breakfast is the only meal served, and Roma Norte has a long list of good restaurants within walking distance. If you are planning meals, our guide to Michelin-starred restaurants near Roma Norte covers the ones you can reach on foot.
You can see every room on our rooms page. If you are still comparing neighbourhoods, our guide to boutique hotels in Mexico City explains why we think Roma Norte is the easiest base for a first trip.
Is this the same as a MICHELIN Key?
No. The MICHELIN Guide hotel selection and the MICHELIN Keys are different things. Casa Goliana’s 2026 recognition is a place in the selection, which is what this page is about.
Visiting around Day of the Dead?
Late October is one of the busiest weeks of the year in the city. Our Day of the Dead 2026 guide has the dates, the parade and the ofrendas worth seeing. To check availability, start from the Casa Goliana home page.
